Shayan Rahnama

Known as Shy in the organization, VP of Product, Shayan Rahnama was born and raised in Calgary, Alberta. He moved to Waterloo, Ontario to complete his degree in Computer Engineering. Later, he went on to earn his MBA from the University of Toronto. 

Shy got the bug to work in rapid-growth, early stage companies shortly after completing his undergraduate degree. This decision took him to projects in France, Botswana, and Trinidad & Tobago. Joining ZayZoon felt like the perfect fit for him. “The mission is incredible. It's at a great size and I felt I could come and make an impact in moving us towards our vision. After meeting the team I had no doubt about the people.”

When asked what hidden talent he possesses, the father of one boasts he is able to rap, in its entirety, Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson’s mini-rap from Moana’s, “You’re Welcome.” Shy loves his coffee and beer. The latter is such a passion that he considered starting his own brewery a few years ago. For now, he is happy trying different, tasty crafts.
